Fr. Philip was born in rural northern California near Holy Transfiguration (“Mount Tabor”) Monastery, where he was baptised shortly thereafter. He grew up around the monastery and then, once it was founded, at the nearby St Peter Mission in Ukiah, CA. After graduating from Christendom College, he began seminary studies. Having studied for some time in the United States, Bishop Benedict sent him to Ukraine to live and study at the Lviv Holy Spirit Seminary and Ukrainian Catholic University. Fr. Philip spent almost four years studying in Ukraine, over the course of which he met his wife Khrystyna, and got married and ordained to the diaconate.
Fr. Philip and Presbytera Khrystyna returned to the United States, and Fr. Philip was ordained to the priesthood by His Grace, Bishop Benedict at Holy Transfiguration Monastery, where he was baptised many years earlier. After his ordination, Fr. Philip was assigned to St. Luke Church in Cody as his first assignment, where he took over from Fr. Roman in September of 2024. He and Presbytera Khrystyna love living in Cody and give thanks to God for the path that has led them here.
